Tokyo stocks dropped Tuesday morning as investors locked in gains a day after the benchmark Nikkei index ended at a new 30-year high, with sentiment also clouded by uncertainty about U.S. economic stimulus plans and coronavirus vaccines. The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average shed 181.16 points, or 0.63 percent, from Monday to 28,641.13. The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 9.04 points, or 0.49 percent, at 1,852.96. Decliners were led by marine transportation, rubber product, and nonferrous metal issues.
