    PICK & CHEESE, COVENT GARDEN

The boys behind The Cheese Bar in Camden have just opened the “world’s first cheese conveyor belt” restaurant in Covent Garden. Although a novelty idea, it actually works surprisingly well as an easy and fun mechanism to taste a wide variety of their expertly curated British cheeses. Each one is accompanied by complimentary condiments (our favourite: White Lake goat’s cheese from Somerset with a lemon and rosemary shortbread) and has a suggested wine pairing. Grab a seat at the pink terrazzo bar and nab any dish as they glide on by. Be sure to order the pan-fried Angloumi Saganaki off-belt, a moreish halloumi-like cheese made in north London served with honey. By Sonya Barber

    THE CHEESE BAR, CAMDEN

All of the cheese served at this Camden stables restaurant is sourced from UK farms, with a menu that features macaroni, poutine, racelette and a molten-cheese fundido. On Thursdays between November and February they serve fondue and wine for a Seventies feel supper club, and there’s a brilliant cocktail menu too.

GORDON’S WINE BAR, CAMDEN

It’s difficult to wander down Villiers Street without two things catching your eye; filled-to-the-top glasses of red wine, and boards of butter-yellow cheddar chunks. They appear from the vaults of Gordon’s wine bar, where cheese, mostly from producers in France, and a couple of carefully selected UK cheeses (including that cheddar) is served with fresh white baguettes and a recommended wine pairing.

LADY OF THE GRAPES, COVENT GARDEN

This tiny red-fronted shop in Covent Garden sells bottles from female growers, sellers and producers all over the world. And while the wine list might be the bar’s main selling point, their food menu features lots of delicious cheese. There’s a goat’s cheese served with truffle honey, a baked camembert with caramelised onions and an oozy brie which comes with a branch of grapes.
