And while there are many things that would perhaps make this year more bearable — a miracle vaccine, a time-turner etc. — there’s one thing that would truly unite us all: New music from Lorde.
Well LISTEN UP FOLKS, because today our Kiwi Queen sent out a quarantine newsletter to fans and it sounds like something epic is coming down the line.
She wrote: “I started going back to the studio again in December, just for something to do, and to my surprise, good things came out.”

“Jack [Antonoff] came over to work in the studio in Auckland and I went to LA. It flowed. A thing started to take shape. And then, of course, the world shut down.”

She then went on to say that “work takes time” and that fans should know that “when the moment comes, our wave will crest super fucking high.”

Which sounds like fancy-talk for “an album is coming, just simmer down while I fucking finish it.”
But she did tease fans with this delectable sound bite: “The work is so fucking good, my friends. I am truly jazzed for you to hear it.”

No confirmation on exactly when our ears might be blessed by ~fresh tunes~, but just to have it TEASED has given me more pleasure than everything I’ve experienced in the last three months combined.
