Mexico has registered a new record high in daily coronavirus deaths, with figures on Thursday showing 1,803 deaths linked to Covid-19 in 24 hours. Mexico’s previous record of 1,584 was set just two days earlier. The total death toll in the country since the pandemic began is now more than 146,000 — the fourth-highest worldwide.
