Lindsay Lohan Was Supposed To Appear On Season 2 Of “Ramy” But Didn’t Show Up On Set

Ramy is returning to Hulu for Season 2 on Friday, so we’ll finally get to see what happens after Season 1’s bonkers cliffhanger.

But one thing we won’t be able to see is a certain guest star who backed out last minute.

In an interview with EW, the show’s star and creator, Ramy Youssef, said Lindsey Lohan was actually supposed to be in Season 2 but ghosted him.

“We were interested in this idea of people that you don’t really think are Muslim,” said Ramy. “We actually cast Lindsay Lohan because Lindsay had this whole thing about converting to Islam. We had cast Lindsay and I talked to her and she was down, and then, you know, like Lindsay does, we just kind of stopped hearing from her.”

“I was trying to get ahold of her and she was on the call sheet, and I guess she couldn’t make it. I don’t know, I never heard from her.”

Since 2016, Lindsay has expressed interest in converting to Islam. Lindsay once changed her Instagram bio to “Alaikum salam” and has been photographed carrying the Quran, as well as donning a headscarf on separate occasions.

In an interview with Turkish news show Haber Turk, she talked about her interest in Islam, saying “In America, I was going through a lot with past things that had happened to me over a 10-year span and my very close friends — who’ve been there for me a lot in London or Saudi — they gave me the Quran.”

“I brought it to New York because I was learning and it opened doors for me to experience and spiritually to find another true meaning.”

She also said she felt “so unsafe” in America after the paparazzi photographs went viral. “People were horrible to me just because this is my belief,” she said.

Lindsay never confirmed whether she ended up actually converting to Islam or if she was just exploring the religion.

She has yet to comment on why she decided not to appear on Ramy.
