I wanted to do something similar to what you guys did — load the field and a robot in an engine. But I’d like to run some custom code that mimics certain functionalities; i.e., auto routines, climbing, etc. I think having the field will help me to better visualize everything.
I took a different route and just ran Blender’s decimate tool on the entire field (I’m not skilled in this area), but that naturally achieved less than desirable results as compared to your hand-optimized version, which looks quite nice and runs quite well, even on my weak system.
