Go for a 70s-style Christmas tipple at the Miracle Bar

This kitsch festive pop-up is reopening for its third year in Covent Garden’s Henrietta Hotel. Hidden on the hotel’s mezzanine floor, the bar is styled as a nostalgic, retro family living room complete with as many Christmas decorations as you could possibly imagine. Festive-themed cocktails such as Bad Santa – mulled wine, port, orange liqueur and Christmas spices – and the SanTaRex (tequila, mint liqueur, cacao blanc, mescal and coconut) are just a few of the novelty drinks available.

Admire the festive lights across London

One of the bright sides to the increasingly dark winter nights are the twinkling Christmas displays that have popped up around the city. This year London’s lights are dedicated to the NHS and essential workers, as well as to a happier 2021. You’ll find pink neon ‘thank you’ signs on Carnaby Street in collaboration with the Choose Love charity, an installation of 27 LED curtains showing the words of a poem dedicated to London and its hardworking citizens and a giant sustainable terrarium tree in Coal Drops Yard. When you’re not falling over or tipping back restorative mulled wine, take in the views – the setting here at night is incredible.
