Ayesha Curry Is Facing Backlash For Posting Bikini Photos After Criticizing People For “Barely Wearing Clothes”

“Everyone’s into barely wearing clothes these days huh? Not my style.”

It looks like Ayesha Curry’s old tweets are coming back to haunt her, and I’m SMH @ the mess.

On Saturday, the cookbook author and wife of basketball player Steph Curry posted a series of bikini snaps on Instagram:

Honestly, she looks amazing!

According to her caption, the photos were taken by her hubby, and I think he may have a future in photography after he retires.

I wasn’t the only one who felt like I needed to get my shit together after seeing the pics. Gabrielle Union posted this:

La La Anthony was at a loss for words:

This person said they fainted:

And Food Network cook Aarti Sequeira couldn’t believe Ayesha really gave birth to not one, not two, but THREE humans!

It was going so well, until people on Twitter resurfaced Ayesha’s tweets from 2015 where she criticized people for “barely wearing clothes these days”:

Everyone’s into barely wearing clothes these days huh? Not my style. I like to keep the good stuff covered up for the one who matters 😂😂😂

Just looking at the latest fashion trends. I’ll take classy over trendy any day of the week. #saturdaynightinsight

This person called out what they felt was hypocrisy:

Ayesha Curry in 2015: “Everyone’s into barely wearing clothes these days huh? Not my style.

I like to keep the good stuff covered up for the one who matters. 😂😂😂”

Ayesha Curry in 2020:

This person said the 31-year-old did “the same thing she bashed other women for”:

And Just like that, Ayesha Curry just did the same thing she bashed other women for.😂😂😂

Another person criticized Ayesha for “bragging about staying covered up and saving her ‘good stuff’ for her husband, only to discover she wanted to be sexy and desirable”:

@Unaamorcita Ayesha sat up here and in typical “internalized misogyny” form bragging ab staying covered up&saving her “good stuff” for her husband only to discover she wanted to be sexy and desirable.

Cool she found her confidence, but y’all can’t be surprised at ppl side-eyeing this. https://t.co/F1kAMvDgsD

ICYMI: In 2019, Ayesha appeared on Jada Pinkett Smith’s Red Table Talk and opened up about feeling insecure over the lack of attention she receives from other men.

This Twitter user summarized the trending topic for those who were still lost on what all the fuss was about:

Ayesha Curry patronised other women for showing skin to men that aren’t their partner, then cried about not getting attention from men who aren’t her husband, and then went on a mad weight loss journey so she could post the same pics she acted like she was above

But there were some who came to Ayesha’s defense, like this fan:

Ayesha Curry took ONE year off from being pregnant and having kids to work on herself and y’all mad?! Lmaoo💀

And this person, who thought her old tweets should stay in the past:

Ayesha Curry can’t wear a bikini without y’all bringing up what she said in the past. I don’t think she was talkin bout bathing suits.

Nevertheless, Ayesha has yet to comment on the backlash. She did, however, post this shot of herself and a shirtless Steph Curry with the caption, “Mom n dad.”
