John Freida Hot Air Brush releases — you guessed it — hot air to lift, brush out, and dry your hair all at the same darn time, which means you’re doing three jobs at once without sacrificing efficiency. Time to throw your flat iron out the window!

Maitland Quitmeyer / BuzzFeed

It combines the smoothing effect of a round brush with the drying and sleekifying power of a traditional blowdryer. It has TWO heat settings (plus a cool setting to set your style) AND ***ionic power*** to reduce frizz and add massive shine. Plus, ceramic coating to reduce heat damage to your hair.

Promising review:This hot air brush has made the biggest difference in my usually flat, frizzy hair! I now have more body and shine than I have had in years! I highly recommend this product. It is lightweight and easy to use. My hair holds a style longer and it is so much easier than trying to blow dry my hair while also using a round brush trying to style it. I wish I would’ve discovered this hot air brush years ago! Love it!” —L

Not Your Mother’s In A Heart Beat Blow Dry Accelerator seriously cuts down on blow dry time (we’re talking half an hour, folks!) while protecting your damp, weakened strands from heat damage and humidity, *and* smoothing out frizz. Hello, shiny and healthy hair!

@notyourmothers / Via instagram.com

Promising review: “My hair easily takes 45 minutes to blow dry, but not anymore! I used this on really wet, like barely towel-dried hair, and it worked like a champ! I had completely dry hair in 15 minutes, and didn’t even need to section off or brush my hair. What I like most about it though is that it does not leave my hair greasy like all the others I’ve tried! And the smell is a bonus, although it doesn’t stick around for long.” —Dorothy

A hair-finishing stick, aka a mascara-like product that’ll put annoying flyaways, baby hairs, and broken hair in their rightful places, so you don’t waste time fiddling with your stray strands and focused on the task at hand. (I can’t be the only one who focuses better with my hair up!)

Sarah Han / BuzzFeed

That’s my hair right there! As you can see, it really picks up all of the annoyingly too-short hairs near the nape of my neck that I can’t gather into a high ponytail or bun. (Don’t mind the remaining front-framing wispies in the “after” photo — those are there on purpose!) There is one main caveat though: I only use it if I know I’ll be washing my hair either that night or the next, since it does still ~stiffen~ the areas of hair I use it on — but it’s better than hairspray, in my opinion *and* the reviewer’s opinion down below. Some reviewers say that they can just brush the gel out, but I’d prefer to just wash it out.

Promising review: “I cannot put my hair up in a high pony or bun now *without* using this product. It truly tames every flyaway and keeps them tame for hours — I come home after a nine-hour day and they’re still in place. I have a 15-month-old baby and have had crazy postpartum hair growth, especially along my hairline near my forehead, and this product has been a godsend.” —Heather H.

Laura Mercier Pure Canvas Primers are the perfect, breathable (they don’t have silicone, and most are water-based!) prep product for any and all makeup — depending on what sort of ~skin finish~ you want to have *and* skin issues (dryness, pores, dullness, etc.) you’d like to address. All of them incorporate nourishing ingredients typically found in your skincare products, so you know you’re treating your skin right!

@lauramercier / Via instagram.com

I personally love the illuminating and hydrating primers! All of them feel like true skincare products, but they have the added bonus of extending the wear of my makeup (which is super important for those days that just drag on from early morning to late night). The hydrating primer contains olive extract, marine hydra botanicals, and glycerin to attract moisture and lock it in for long-term moisture — it’s truly the best way to wake up my face in the morning. And I love anything that makes my face look a little extra ~lit~, and the illuminating one does just that, thanks to micronized pearls, porcelain flower extract, and a light-reflecting complex for a naturally brightened and smooth-looking complexion.

Promising review (for Hydrating): “YES!! I tend to buy a million and one primers and end up not using any of them after the second day, but this product worked wonders for my combination skin! There is no particular scent to this product, but I can’t say that it is completely scentless either — it has a fresh, clean scent to it. This primer allows your foundation to stick perfectly, allowing you to achieve great coverage. This is well worth it for me — I ended up getting four other Pure Canvas primers from thecollection!” —Annli12

Mighty Patch Original and Invisible+ Pimple Patches banish your pimple anxieties with a special hydrocolloid material that draws out all of the gross (but oddly satisfying) pus and other impurities inside whitehead-showing pimples, thus speeding up the healing process — and they’re thin enough to wear during the daytime with barely any visibility!

amazon.com, Amazon

Promising review (for Original): “Now that I have to deal with ‘adult acne,’ it’s sent me scurrying in every direction, from drugstore to dermatologist, to try and clear it. Unlike my teenage years, the problems I deal with now are not straightforward zits. My pores get clogged, but they’re stubborn buggers and don’t like to be extracted. The Mighty Patch has been great because it actually succeeds in bringing all that grossness to the surface. From there, it’s easy just to extract and blast off. I’m also guilty of that cardinal sin in zit care — constantly poking at the blemish and this keeps me from myself. I’ve already gone through one sheet!” —Karen Lee

EcoTools Fresh Perfecting Blender is made with antimicrobial silver to keep your sponge cleaner and fresher for longer — and its design is both ergonomic to the touch and useful with both rounded and flat edges.

@ecotools / Via instagram.com

You still need to wash your sponge regularly though! And as with their other sponges, this bb is made out of their EcoFoam Technology which has 70% plant based materials. They’re also cruelty-free, PETA-certified, and vegan!

Promising review: “I have used MANY beauty sponges in the past and I never really liked them. I always felt they absorbed more product than they distributed, but this one seamlessly blended my makeup into my skin. I love the flat side to blend and set my makeup, both liquid and powder.” —Lita627

Get it from Target for $4.89 (also available in a bigger body version for $7.99).

And be sure to wash your sponges regularly with a makeup brush cleanser! Just don’t run your sponge over any sort of cleansing mat, ’cause it’ll ruin it!

Docolor Eyelash Comb fixes all of your clumpy and stuck-together mascara woes with a few gentle swipes/wiggles — hello, easy, breezy, and beautifully separated lashes!

Amazon, amazon.com

Promising review: “A must have in my makeup case! I have used plastic lash combs, metal ones, and flat ones, all of which just didn’t get the job done. I always went back to a safety pin, WHICH I DO NOT ADVISE! This comb is metal and arched, which is much easier to use, and the teeth glide through lashes easily. NOTE: If your mascara is dry and clumped, ANY COMB COULD POTENTIALLY PULL OUT LASHES. JUST NO. DO NOT DO IT. I put on mascara, and while it’s still wet, I glide the comb through the base and go up. It’s that simple. I was concerned about cleaning it with alcohol, but I asked customer service and was told it was safe.” —ASConner

Orly Gel FX Easy-Off Base Coat lessens the damage of gel manicures because it basically creates a barrier between your nail and potent gel colors, so removal is a total breeze that doesn’t require soaking your nails in acetone for approximately a million years.

@orlynails / Via instagram.com, @orlynails / Via instagram.com

Promising review: “This is the best stuff!!! I use it at my salon and it is quick, and after it soaks and you remove the foils, it literally pops off the nail. You can blow on it! That’s how easily it comes off. And the biggest bonus, NO DAMAGE TO THE NAIL!” —Serena

Ole Henriksen Pore-Balance Facial Sauna Scrub draws from the traditional Scandinavian sauna cycle for inspiration: it uses dual warm/cool action to lift and loosen dead skin cells with a powerful blend of glycolic and lactic acids, while volcanic sand and neem seed oil absorbs excess oil and unclogs pores, making them appear smaller.

@olehenriksen / Via instagram.com

Promising review: “The warming sensation this gives your skin really does make it feel like your face is experiencing a luxurious sauna. I can’t get enough of this! Exfoliates my skin, gives my face a fresh glow, and doesn’t dry me out! I have very dry skin, so I find that I have to exfoliate often to relieve my skin of dry patches, and this product is perfect!” —skh11

Lay N’ Go Cosmetic Bags solve the extremely perplexing dilemma of “why does my makeup collection always look like an avalanche?” in an easy lay-out-and-drawstring-up fashion.

Lay N’ Go / Via youtube.com

Did I mention it only weighs a few ounces on its own, it’s washable, and there’s a lil’ zipper pocket on the inside for any other necessities? Looove it.

Promising review: “I travel weekly for work and I used to use the tray from the coffee center or ice bucket for my makeup because it was too difficult to find and use my makeup straight from the bag. This is just perfect! I just open the bag and everything is organized; when I’m ready to leave, I do a quick zip of the cord and it’s all packed up.” —Shan Day

Sigma Beauty Dry ‘N’ Shape Tower makes the arduous task of washing your makeup brushes (I literally just went “ugh” thinking about it) a little easier by giving your clean, wrung-out brushes a home to dry all the way to their original, fluffed-out shape. Genius!

@sigmabeauty / Via instagram.com

Hanging them brush-side down also prevents the rest of your brush (esp the metal part) from unnecessary water damage. You can also attach a smaller dry ‘n’ shape tower (more geared towards eye brushes) *on top* of this tower for even more storage! Wowowow.

Promising review: “Someone said it didn’t line up perfect, but mine did. It locked into place and lined up with the shapers at the bottom. I love this! It’s so convenient and durable. I can snap my largest brush into the bottom. I think it was expensive, but worth the money. I love the option to make it larger and add more sections to the tower! I even have found a space to put my Beautyblenders while my brushes dry.” —The dancer

Lipstick Queen Lipsticks adjust to your lips’ unique pH and color-shifts into the most lovely shades of pink, while also hydrating your lips and overall feeling barely there. No goop of a gloss, and no mess of a full-on lipstick. And that packaging is luxurious and *chef’s kiss*.

@lipstickqueen / Via instagram.com, amazon.com

Yes, Frog Queen is the beloved OG, but I like Venetian Masquerade (which is sadly the only color sold out right now!) when I’m feeling something a little ~brighter~. It’s such a lovely pinky berry, and because it’s not a full-on lipstick, it doesn’t look as intense (which is my fear with bright pinks).

Promising review (for “Girls Will Be Boys”): “Always on the hunt for a great PH lip stain. Although nearly all of them end up a very similar pink, this one is a soft pink — one of the more natural ‘your lips but better’ stains. But what I love most is it isn’t glossy/goopy like many others. It isn’t 100% matte, but it’s more matte than any others I’ve tried. Doesn’t dry my lips out at all, and the stain lasts an impressive amount of time.” —Lish May

Nivea In-Shower Nourishing Body Lotion absorbs instantly into wet skin and leaves skin feeling buttery soft, so you can jump out of the shower and straight into bed — because no one likes feeling sticky and waiting for moisturizer to absorb after drying off.

@niveausa / Via instagram.com

Promising review: “Good for lazy people like me. I have super dry skin, and while one would think it would make me a religious daily moisturizer person, it has not. No one likes standing on their bath mat sticky, naked, and cold, waiting for a traditional moisturizer to dry. This adds a step to your shower routine, but it’s way faster than the old way of applying post-shower. I highly recommend if you just can’t seem to commit to keeping your skin hydrated. Say goodbye forever to ashy skin!” —Coco

A little dollop of Neutrogena Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair Mask goes a long way — its formula of olive, meadowfoam, and sweet almond extracts penetrate throughout the ~entire~ hair strand (we’re talking center, middle, and surface levels!!), so your mane looks healthy from the inside out. Helping undo months of damage in just 3-5 minutes? Sold.

Promising review: “Take it from an ethnic salad bowl with Brillo pad hair that is sometimes nappy, sometimes curly, and sometimes straight, this is the only conditioner you will ever need for the rest of your life. It repairs and softens like nothing else. Despite what it says, you should definitely work some in and leave it in after washing. And to top it off, this stuff smells like a magical bouquet of spring flowers. Take a stranger’s word.” —Amazon Customer

Shadow Shields plop right underneath your eyes to prevent messy fallout situations — so go wild with the sparkles and glitter! — and help draw out perfectly sharp cat eyes (better than tape too, IMO)!

Promising review: “So glad I found these! I’ve always had trouble with fallout under my eyes, even with good brushes and high-quality makeup. Some palettes have colors with fallout, some don’t, but now I don’t have to worry about that at all. I can do my foundation first and THEN my eye makeup — I hated having to wipe away shadow from my cheeks and apply more concealer. I’ll be buying more boxes of these.” —Tasha

I even use it on some of my super dry matte lipsticks to make them more cushiony. Insta-Matte has helped me get away from chalky lips when I couldn’t afford a pricey matte lipstick. Lime Crime Unicorn Hair lets all hair colors (yes, even dark-stranded babes) in on the semi-permanent dye fun with a magical concoction that packs A TON of color into your strands with beautiful, natural fade-out. Plus, they’re cruelty-free and vegan (as the unicorns would want!).

Lime Crime, Sarah Han / BuzzFeed

I personally love this product! I’m super skeptical of temporary dyes because, while my hair used to be bleached blonde, it was many-months-old bleach and, to my utter dismay, it wasn’t absorbing other brands of temporary color very effectively. And because of this, I opted for one of Lime Crime’s “full coverage” colors, Bubblegum Rose and let me tell ya’, it was vibrant and BRIGHTTTT. So much that I could’ve gotten a more muted pink, which was what I originally wanted (you can use the dilute shade to tone down any shade!). But regardless, the color totally took and gave me lovely pink-dyed ends that got all the compliments. Almost a year later, I still use Unicorn Hair to re-up my salon-made pink hue, so my beloved color never goes away! I also use Lime Crime Unicorn Hair Conditioners to upkeep my hair as well.

Or more an *even more* temporary option, Kristin Ess Rose Gold Temporary Tint sprays onto pre-lightened or blonde hair right in the shower (or slightly towel-dried hair for a more intense pink) for fairy-like hair that’s pretty much the definition of no commitment.

@kristin_ess / Via instagram.com, @kristin_ess / Via instagram.com

A lot of reviewers do point out application’s a bit messy, so even if you’re applying the tint to towel-dried hair, do it in the shower!

Promising review: “Gave a blush/rose gold color to my blond balayage that I absolutely love. And it really did wash away after only a couple shampoos. I’d normally never touch temporary color products like this, but I knew I could trust this line to not harm my color.” —Melissa

Benefit Cosmetics Precisely, My Brow eyebrow pencils have a super fine tip so you can go to town creating delicate strokes that really mimic your natural brow hairs. It’s also great for beginners or people who generally don’t have the time nor patience for fussier brow formulas.

Benefit Cosmetics

I personally use this eyebrow pencil allllll the dang time. Unlike a lot of other brands, Benefit has a lot of shade options (I even sometimes use different shades, depending on what I’m feeling!), and the small pencil tip allows you to be super precise with your shaping and create very natural-looking strokes.

Promising review: “The shape of the pencil is perfect for shaping and making thin strokes to mimic real hair growth and this is the only brow pencil I’ve ever used that actually stays on and doesn’t run off soon after applying.” —Lc143sj

Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protector Lotion is not only packed with SPF 50+ and *totally free of oxybenzone and octinoxate* (aka the ingredients Hawaii banned), but it’s literally invisible, thanks to SynchoShield — a lightweight, protective veil that’s magically strengthened by heat, water, and sweat via WetForce Technology and HeatForce Technology. Yet it’s also water- and sweat-resistant for up to 80 minutes. Yeah, WOW.

Let me explain further! Shiseido explains WetForce as this: “Negative ions in the formula combine with positive ions in perspiration and water to create an additional layer of invisible sun protection. As you continue to sweat and get wet, the product becomes more effective.” Now, for HeatForce: “A heat-sensing essence in the lotion becomes activated by external heat, forming a stronger barrier.” This. Stuff. Is. Serious. It works for face *and* body, FYI!

Promising review: “Okay, I am LOVING this sunscreen. I’m super picky when it comes to sunscreens, but this one is light and not oily, and for me that’s huge — I hate the feeling of oily sunscreen on my skin. It rubs in beautifully and smells so good, aka it doesn”t have that typical sunscreen smell! Would definitely recommend” —meganm30

amazon.com, Amazon

Promising review: “Bought this on a whim, and was honestly expecting it to be awful. I don’t have a problem doing my own winged liner by hand, so it’s not like I really need the stamps for it. BUT I actually really love these! The wings look good, and I can customize them a bit with the liner side of the pen. The liner side tapers enough to make super fine lines or thicker ones. It stays on all day with no problem. I can tilt the wings to make them more or less angled…it makes doing my eyeliner super quick and easy!” —Amelia C. Taylor

Supersmile Whitening Pre-Rinse lets you keep a healthy white smile while skipping out on harmful bleaches and abrasives — it safely and painlessly whitens and remineralizes teeth and dental restorations (bonding, caps, veneers, and dentures), all before you brush your teeth and seal all that goodness in!

@supersmileofficial / Via instagram.com

Promising review: “I recently had a complete smile makeover that involved a gum lift, professional teeth whitening, and 12 composite veneers. To maintain my beautiful, new smile, my cosmetic dentist recommended Supersmile. So I bought the entire system (this rinse, toothpaste, and accelerator) and have been using it twice daily for several months now. My smile today looks just as good on the day I first got my veneers, despite being a daily tea drinker. I got composite veneers instead of porcelain, as they were more conservative (no need for removal of healthy tooth structure), but a concern was that they would stain (composite tends to stain more easily than porcelain, or so they say). Not with this Supersmile system! All three products are a must in my opinion if you want to maintain a healthy, white smile. It’s a little on the pricey side but if you can afford it, it’s worth the investment.” —Katherine Nora

@myblithe / Via instagram.com, @blithecosmetic / Via instagram.com

Promising review (for Soothing Green Tea): “This is the first ‘splash mask’ I’ve ever tried. This product is refreshing and gives my skin a nice glow. I tend to use it right after I take hot showers so my open pores can absorb the product even better. I use this splash mask every other day when my skin needs more of a pick me up. If you have really sensitive skin, I would make sure to dilute it with water.” —Sweet Ichigo

Some reviewers say that it doesn’t work on waterproof makeup, and despite the below reviewer, I’d like to say it’s probably best to use a specific makeup remover for that delicate area, instead of rubbing away. :O

Promising review: “I was skeptical of these, but now I’m pretty sure they’re what Mulan’s outfit was made of when she wiped her makeup off on her sleeve in the movie. Even when totally dry, they’re pretty impressive about taking all of my makeup (including waterproof eyeliner and mascara) in a couple swipes. I like to use a little micellar water to make my skin feel a little cleaner. It’s nice not to burn through so many cotton pads.” —Rachel M.

Just apply, and voila — coconut flower sugar lightly exfoliates and melts away dead skin/flakes, while flower-derived AHA and watermelon extract hydrates, softens, and adorns your lips with a unique ~pink flush~.

And just like Glow Recipe’s other watermelon products, it smells absolutely fabulous (always a bonus).

Aquis Lisse Luxe Hair Towel cuts way down on your hair handling and drying process, whether you air dry *or* blow dry — its special microfiber material wicks water away faster than a cotton towel (without needing your hands/arms!) and is much more gentle on your strands, so you don’t end up with very unnecessary frizz and/or breakage.

Natalie Brown / BuzzFeed, Aquis

Promising reviews: “I’m surprised by how well this actually works! I truly have coarse, un-tame-able hair that I must half air dry and then blow dry — it’s a science. But this towel really helps the texture of my hair and helps it dry more quickly. Now I can put the towel on when I get out of the shower, then be blow drying in 15 minutes. Cuts down ‘handling’ time when it comes to drying!” —Katie

Belif Aqua Bomb has a ridiculously satisfying ~water burst~ formula, which means its gel texture disperses into water droplets you can feel as it’s being rubbed into your skin — and alongside a blend of apothecary herbs, it calms down normal, oily, and combination skin types and smooths everything over without leaving any residue or unnecessarily heavy texture behind.

Promising review: “I absolutely love this! I’ve been using it I think for almost three years now and do not plan on changing it anytime soon. I used to live in Boston, which meant I needed a super-hydrating product to survive the winter, but I truly cannot stand oily and heavy creams (plus they tend to break me out). It felt super light and refreshing, but still sooo hydrating! I have since moved to Panama, which is the complete opposite in terms of weather, and I still love this product since its lightweight texture is perfect for the extreme humidity we have here.” —ngade29

Promising review: “The Poppy helps control how you paint your nails. You will be able to make less mistakes, while applying even coats of polish. While made for its namesake brand of polish, I also found that the Poppy works on CND Vinylux, Smith & Cult, Chanel, and Tom Ford nail polishes since the caps come off. Promising review: “It really is a convenient on-the-go travel razor. I was parked in the lot at work, took a look at my legs, and noticed that I missed a spot.
